Railway Operations & Maintenance Excellence Workshop

Tuesday 4 August 2020

The South African Heavy Haul Association (SAHHA) will be hosting a pre conference technical workshop on Tuesday 4 August 2020, a day before the SAHHA conference to be held on 5-7 August 2020, at Emperor’s Palace, Johannesburg

The scarcity of capital, global economic factors that affect demand and supply of commodities and services, inflation and global warming are some of the major challenges that are facing the logistics supply chain. Specifically, in the case of the Railway industry. Improving efficiency and safety of the operations, and reduction in total logistics costs are some of the critical levers for survival and competitiveness.

Hence, the SAHHA Planning Committee introduced this special technical workshop with carefully selected topics of discussion. The main objective is to provide delegates with latest global best practices, that if implemented will lead to effective management of operations and to predictive rail infrastructure and rolling stock maintenance under the 4IR era.

The workshop will feature local and international experts in Railways as well as cover topics such as Operations Management, Rail infrastructure and Rolling Stock maintenance
